There are daily flights from Port Moresby Domestic Terminal to Wewak. You can check the latest Air Niugini schedule here.
Once in Wewak, it is recommended to plan an extra day to get provisions for the trip to the Sepik. The best hotel in town is the InWewak Boutique Hotel. This place is a genuine gem and highly recommended. It is the best place by miles and and its food is sublime and superior compared to what you can get at some 5-star places in Port Moresby.
You can get cash out from the ATMs at Bank of South Pacific in the Main Street. You need cash in small notes outside of Wewak and Maprik. The best time to go to ATM is after 4:30pm when the crowds have gone.

Transport:
There are two options, rental Landcruiser with driver or PMV (bus or truck).
The writers preferred car rental company is Riverest Limited. Their vehicles are relatively new and clean. Cost 1000 Kina per day flat rate. Driver and security escort extra. The Landcruiser uses about 50 liters of Diesel for the round trip which costs about 250 Kina in Wewak.
If you want the cheapest option you can rough it and go by PMV but this is not recommended as the safety standard of these vehicles is mostly poor. The trip has to be split into Wewak-Maprik and Maprik-Pagwi. The first vehicle departs Maprik Market for Pagwi at 1pm and the last one at 5pm. Departures from Pagwi for Maprik are at 7am. The route Wewak-Maprik-Wewak is operated all day.
Provisions:
It is recommended to get all your provisions (food, bottled water, batteries, toilet roll) before you depart. My favorite shop is Papindo on Dagua Road. They are clean, spaceous and have everything you need, and you can park in front of the shop.

Transport:
Canoe traffic is villaged based. Each village has their own canoe drivers who serve their village only. They do so-called market runs when there are market days in Maprik Monday to Thursday. There is near zero traffic on Saturdays and Sundays.
Market runs depart Korogu at around 5am and Pagwi at around 5pm when the trucks and buses arrive from Maprik. Outside these times you have to charter your own canoe with driver.
Provisions:
There are no grocery shops at Pagwi. There is a place that sells fuel for the canoes by the gallon (4 litres) or by the drum (200 litres). You can also get a soft drink can from the market mamas sitting under the trees. Please collect your packagings and bring them back to Wewak.
